Kurt is 53 years old and received a degree in accounting from St. Francis University; a Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law; and studied taxation for two years at the Villanova School of Law.
He is a resident of Exeter Township, where he is an active member of St. Catharine of Siena Parish.
Kurt has been married to his wife for 28 years, and together they have six children.

He has litigated at every level of Court in Pennsylvania, including the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He has practiced extensively before the Federal District Courts and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
In 2019, he was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
He is a certified arbitration chairperson with the Berks County Bar and is a member of the Pennsylvania and Berks County Bar Associations.
He has served on the boards of the Greater Reading Food Bank and the Star Series.
