Kurt Geishauser

    Kurt is 53 years old and received a degree in Accounting from St. Francis University, in Loretto, Pennsylvania; a Juris Doctorate from the Dickinson School of Law in Carlisle, Pennsylvania; and studied taxation for two years at the Villanova School of Law.  He has been married to his wife for 28 years and together they have six children.  Kurt worked for the Department of Public Welfare and interned for Federal Bankruptcy Judge Thomas Twardowski. He clerked for Berks County Court of Common Pleas Judge Stephen B. Lieberman, where he stayed for two years.  He then joined the firm of Mogel, Speidel, Bobb, and Kershner where he worked primarily in civil litigation.  Ultimately,  he joined the firm of Dimitriou & Geishauser, P.C., where he handled a great variety of cases covering every division of the Berks County Courts.  In his practice, he has handled civil cases in a number of areas including but not limited to contract disputes, real estate issues such as landlord/ tenant, adverse possession, and eminent domain; as well as employment issues and worker’s compensation cases.  He has dealt with a large volume of family cases, including divorce, support, custody, and equitable distribution. His extensive criminal practice has covered adult and juvenile cases, from Murder and serious felonies to misdemeanors and even summary traffic offenses. He has tried a litany of jury trials and has handled cases in twenty different counties. He has litigated at every level of Court in Pennsylvania, including the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court, the Pennsylvania Superior Court, and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. He has practiced extensively before the Federal District Courts and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.  In 2019, he was sworn in as a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

 

    He is a certified arbitration chairperson with the Berks County Bar.  He is a member of the Pennsylvania and Berks County Bar Associations.  He has additionally served his community on the boards of the Greater Reading Food Bank and the Star Series.  He is an active member of St. Catharine of Siena Parish in Exeter.
